Round 1 Recap: 2022 Southwest Airlines HPU Shark Shootout at Pearl CC

Cal State San Marcos leads Hawai‘i Pacific University by four shots

OAHU, Hawai‘i – Local favorite Kellie Yamane of Hawai‘i Pacific University holds a two-shot lead after round one of the 2022 Southwest Airlines HPU Shark Shootout at Pearl Country Club. Located just nine miles from HPU’s campus, Yamane’s five-under (67) is two shots ahead of a second-place tie between UT Permian Basin’s Arnie Taguines and Cal State San Marcos’ Breann Horn.

“It was gratifying to watch Kellie play to her potential today,” said general manager of Pearl Country Club and head coach of the Hawai‘i Pacific Men’s and Women’s Golf Teams, Ed Kageyama.
